The Recruit review

The Recruit

I recently watched The Recruit and so far this has been the best watch of 2023. Created by Alexi Hawley, starring Noah Centineo as the Recruit in this Action and crime series, Owen (Noah Centineo) finds Himself in hot waters in his first week working for the CIA as a lawyer.

Owen (Noah Centineo) finds himself having to deal with a blackmailer trying to Blackmail the CIA as she (Max Meladze - Laura Haddock) a former asset for the CIA wants out of jail. This is the base of the plot and makes for a really good, CIA lawyer bites off more than he can chew, crime drama. The series starts a little slow, not giving away too much to start with but soon starts letting you know more about the two main characters Owen Hendricks and Max Meladze.

This was a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions as your start to like Max as you realise she's not as bad as the crime she committed, or is she? The episodes throughout leave you questioning everything and wanting more information on what is going on, its confusing and complicated as you question most characters integrity and who is really the good guys!

I think the acting was good through out and there was a good bit of humour to give it a little bit of comedy factor, there was plenty of tense moments and the screen play and action scenes were well thought out. I think they could've given you a bit more on Owen to begin with and build the bond with the character sooner but it all worked out well in the end.

I fully recommend this Netflix Original series and rate it a 3/5 stars.
